Hello hello, it's been a minute since I've checked in. I've been steadily working on electronics, and have a few quick updates to share.
First, I've spent more and more time learning about synth circuits, and building up various modules to play around with. Here's a recent shot of my modular case. As you can see, there's quite a bit going on.
A few things have been built recently and swapped out. I'm planning on a video or two walking through at least the modules I've built from scratch, or at the very least some of the more interesting ones. Keep an eye out for that.
Here are a few shots of some of the modules I'm talking about. The first is an 2x4 channel mixer with separate send/returns for each set of four. I had this previously in my rack, but downsized it considerably.
This next one is one of the modules I've built that uses an Arduino as its core. I had begun messing around with Arduinos a while ago, but this was one of the first applications that I came across on my own that really clicked enough to wire it up and get it into my modular system. Here it is sans panel:
This final one is a passive synth utility box that I've been using alongside my modular. It allows for hands on performance tweaks as you play, without taking up any power from your system, or any space in your rack. It has a few passive panners and two sets of switched multiples, inspired by the amazing mylar melodies. If you're interested in synth at all, check this guy's videos out. Super informative and entertaining.
I'm still teaching myself a few tricks of PCB production, but keep and eye out for possible sonusfluxa synth modules in the future. Just saying.
I do have some pedal ideas I've been throwing around. There are a few interesting 'not your typical' fuzzes that I was working on many months ago. If this piques any interest I may go back to at least getting a few in the store.
On the topic of the store...since I'm slightly more focused on synth stuff at the moment, I'm doing a bit of price reduction on some of my older designs and builds! Go take a look, and see for yourself what's been reduced.
That's all for now, hope to update sooner rather than later!
